Sebastián Montalvo Gray is a franco-peruvian  visual artist mainly oriented to the photographic and audiovisual medium. Dedicated much of his time to the photojournalism profession , his work ranks between investigative journalism and contemporary visual arts. Through his projects, he explores how power, identity, and history are constructed, contested, and experienced, focusing on the fragmentation of land and the psychological impacts of conflict. His practice has evolved as he increasingly recognized the potential of visual arts as a space to combine journalistic integrity and practices with artistic expression. Focusing his work in Latin America, he investigates themes related to the territory and the socio-political structures that emerge from it.

Having obtained his MFA from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, France, Montalvo Gray continues to develop projects that bridge artistic experimentation with rigorous documentary inquiry, offering a lens that is both deeply personal and critically engaged with broader tensions.
